1.   Life-long Study

Nowadays, more and more people spend much more time and money on the so-called "recharging". Bookshops and training schools are very popular, the whole education market is getting more and more prosperous, and students are more hard-working. What drives people to learn more? The economic situation? Promotion? Or purely the demand of personal improvement? Or other?
    What's your comment on the life-long study?

LIFE-LONG STUDY

An 88-year-old man in India has signed up for his 17th college degree.
　　Jagdish Singh is in pursuit of his latest academic distinction: a doctor's degree in English Literature from Lucknow University.
　　According to the Hindustan Times the former teacher has accumulated a string of degrees at colleges across India.
　　Mr. Singh, who retired as principal of a graduate college in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, 28 years ago, says: "Minus the time spent on meals and attending to minor chores, I spend every minute of the day reading up on subjects as far a field as geography, history, zoology, literature, economics and the like.
　　"In fact it's the possibility of learning just a little more that makes me want to cling on to life. To worship knowledge is to worship God."

    Recently, the so-called "the first Chinese mid-wife" Liu Jie has been discovered to be a cheat and her theory on the early stage education in her book To Win at the Starting Line is the kind of pseudo-science. With the development of China' economy and the improvement of the living level of Chinese people, Chinese parents attach greater and greater importance on the education of their only child. The concept of early phase education, or education from the zero age is getting more and more popular. Liu Jie and her like took the advantage of people' great concern on the baby education. Early phase education is necessary, however, how can we carry it out properly?
